The history of our hotel in the Zillertal.

We let tradition live on.

It all began in 1649, with an agricultural business which went by the name of Neuhaus. This business included a farmstead, a guesthouse and the local post office. The guesthouse, which had the same name, was a meeting place and central point of Mayrhofen long before alpinism and tourism came to the Zillertal in the mid-19th century. The crucial change in the history of our hotel came in the mid-20th century – the Penken cable car line was built in 1953/54 and opened up the fascinating mountain world

surrounding Mayrhofen more than ever before. The tradition-rich Neuhaus guesthouse was transformed into a comfortable hotel and was joined by a sister soon afterwards: our ElisabethHotel. The two hotels are located just a stone’s throw from each other and today they are managed with great passion and dedication by the Moigg family, who have managed to keep the lifestyle and warmth of the past alive in both hotels – right in the centre of the holiday destination of the Zillertal valley and in the heart of the Tyrolean Alps.

Your Host Family

Josef Moigg and family welcome you to the Zillertal valley!

All countries need agriculture

There is a long tradition of farming in the Zillertal valley, and the farms have in turn shaped the landscape. Wide range land stretches up to the mountainous regions and lush high altitude meadows. The Moigg family is also working hard to maintain the farming practices and traditions. It was after all the "Neuhaus" farm that was the base for the successful step into the hotel business. Our guests also profit from the fact that this farm still operates, in the form of fresh produce, tender beef, pork and veal.

Constructing a new dream hotel...

The charm of the past and the comfort of today.

Our conversion was quite a big deal: we enhanced our original ElisabethHotel with many exclusive amenities. Exquisite new rooms and suites with magnificent views were designed with great attention to detail. After a storm in the summer of 2017, our Elisense Spa was completely renovated the following year. Since then, our new spa has boasted expert treatments and an outstanding concept. The architecture in particular is very exciting as we managed to combine modern luxury living and a contemporary ambience with the gable and balcony design of our existing building in a stylish way – therefore creating an extraordinary holiday experience for you.

A history of football in the ElisabethHotel.

Immediately after the completion of our new building in August 2014, we hosted the German first division football team VfB Stuttgart and pampered them in true ElisabethHotel style! The players from VfB Stuttgart were so pleased with their training camp residence with us here in Mayrhofen that we were chosen to be the official team hotel of VfB Stuttgart the following year and welcomed them when they came to stay during a second training camp. After VfB were relegated, we had the honour of hosting Ajax Amsterdam and were selected to be their team hotel in 2016 and 2017.
